नवरात्रि का पर्व शक्ति और भक्ति का प्रतीक है। इस दौरान माँ दुर्गा के नौ रूपों की पूजा की जाती है।
Importance:
During this Navratri, the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. 🌺
Its religious significance lies in the fact that during these nine days, devotees observe fasts, sing devotional hymns, perform worship rituals, and offer sacred fire oblations in honor of the Mother Goddess.
This festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. After Navratri ends, Dussehra (Vijayadashami) is celebrated, commemorating Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana.
During Navratri, devotees observe fasts, chant the Goddess’s mantras, and perform special worship in temples. On the ninth day, known as Navami, after offering prayers to the Goddess, the ritual of Kanya Pujan is performed. In this tradition, young girls are revered as embodiments of the Goddess, offered food, and given gifts.
9 Days and 9 Avatars of Navratri
Each day of Navratri is dedicated to worshipping a special form of Goddess Durga:
Day One – Maa Shailputri: the daughter of the King of Mountains, Himalaya.
Day Two – Maa Brahmacharini: the Goddess of penance and devotion.
Day Three – Maa Chandraghanta: the Goddess of courage and bravery.
Day Four – Maa Kushmanda: the creator of the universe.
Day Five – Maa Skandamata: the mother of Lord Skanda (Kartikeya).
Day Six – Maa Katyayani: the warrior Goddess.
Day Seven – Maa Kalaratri: the one who removes darkness and fear.
Day Eight – Maa Mahagauri: the Goddess of peace and purity.
Day Nine – Maa Siddhidatri: the one who grants all divine powers and perfections.

• Lighting the Akhand Jyoti (eternal flame)
• Fasting dedicated to the various forms of the Goddess
• Recitation of Durga Saptashati or Devi Mahatmya

This Navratri is considered an auspicious time especially for spiritual practice, penance, and self-purification.
